BYRON BIKE RACK CONCEPT

This competition, which we were shortlisted as finalists for, combined everything I love about community space and right action for the environment. Art and good design transforms public space and creates sense of arrival and place. These concepts tell a very Byron Story. One of Waves, Ecology, Social Activism and an embrace of new technology all wrapped up in a playful low fi attitude. These Bike Racks are conceived as meeting places as much as a place to lock a bicycle. Consider a Wi-Fi hot spot and device charging station with a solar collector. I saw these locations as part of an overall move to a Smart Streets precinct in the Bay that’s consistent with The Byron Bay Master Plan.
